Instructions to Authors

A. General information
HSCBB12 submissions are limited to single page abstracts and will be assigned to one of the conference topics.
Submitted work may be presented either as a poster (default option) or as an oral presentation, after selection by the Scientific Committee based on the final program.
A PowerPoint (.ppt) template for oral presentations is also provided with the rest of templates.
For each abstract the submitting author should indicate whether it should be considered for an oral presentation, otherwise the Scientific Committee will consider it as a "poster submission" only.

B. Guidelines for Abstract Preparation

Abstracts should be up to 2 pages long (strict limit), including the title, names and affiliations of all co-authors, following the templates provided for Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx files) and LaTeX. Figures, tables and a few references may be included, if considered necessary.

The final submission should be in .pdf format. Original source files may be requested from corresponding authors for typesetting purposes.

C. Instructions for EasyChair Abstract Submission
HSCBB12 is powered by the free conference management system EasyChair.  In order to submit your contribution you should follow the instructions below:

1. Apply for an EasyChair account at the conference EasyChair website.
This process may take a few minutes to complete.

2. Log in to the EasyChair system when you are ready for the submission.

3. For submitting a new abstract, please follow exactly the next steps:
  • Click the "New Submission" link on the top-left corner.
  • Select the most appropriate theme related to your abstract. Please, notice that for each topic title there are two options available: one for "oral presentation" and one for a "poster presentation". Choose the "poster presentation" only if you do not wish your abstract to be considered for an oral presentation.
  • Fill in the names, affiliations, postal and email addresses of all co-authors and indicate the corresponding authors accordingly. All these fields are mandatory.
  • Paste in the provided text areas a title and abstract of your contribution. Please, notice that only plain (ASCII) text is accepted in those fields.
  • Select the appropriate checkboxes to indicate whether the Scientific Committee should consider the abstract into alternative thematic areas as well. Here you also have the opportunity to also declare whether a submission for an oral presentation should be also considered for a poster presentation.
  • Provide at least 3 (and up to 5) representative keywords for your contribution. If more than 5 keywords are entered the Scientific Committee may arbitrarily select which will be included in the final form of the abstract.

4. Upload your abstract (in .pdf format). Until midnight (Greek time) of the abstract submission deadline, you may modify the uploaded abstract file. No modification will be possible afterwards.
